I was lucky enough to capture afew shots of this majestic goliath while on a recent commission in the West Indies. This huge leatherback turtle had just spent the past few hours on Pasture Beach in Mustique laying its clutch of eggs before returning, exhausted, to the sea. She returns every year to the same spot that she was born to lay her eggs, and thanks to the Mustique Turtle Watch headed by Raven Hoflund, the nests are constantly monitored to ensure that the eggs are not disturbed while incubating under the sand.
